In a daily math routine, you will want to work on building your students’ number sense. When students have good number sense, they can flexibly manipulate numbers, estimate quantities, recognize patterns, and understand relationships between quantities. One of the best number sense routines is through an activity called “What’s my number?”
For this activity, students are presented with a series of 4 steps. For example,
-Start with the the difference of 12-7.
-Add the sum of 8+5+2
-Increase your number by 1 ten, 3 ones
-Add 10

You can spice up your daily math warm-up with a dash of spiral review! Be sure to include 3-4 activities to tackle tricky concepts with your students. Need inspiration?
